Mom enter the arena

[Battlefan]

I remember one scene from "Gladiator" movie (with Russell Crowe).
It was first fight on the arena: gladiators were waiting behind the gate, to enter the battle. When the gates were open, they run it to the arena. In that moment, one of gladiator receive powerful blow in face with some chain weapon: he was out of action just before battle started. I found it very funny. This was solid inspiration for my fantasy. Since that moment, I always loved imagine my mom in similar situation:

My mother participates in mass-battle: blondes vs brunettes (my mom is brunette). Battle already continues. Each team receives reinforcements in various parts of battle. I am standing together with mom in her corridor, before closed gate of arena. She waits on her time to join the battle. At last moms time has come. Heavy doors of arena opened with noise.
The commentator announce my mother: "And there approach Anna, famous and brave amazon, great hope of brunnettes team."
My mom is very excited. She whisper to me: "Wish me luck Mark", and starting her run in to arena. I scream: "Go mom! Go and win!"
I am sure that my mom will win, because she spend all long year of hard and intensive training.

BUT...
Just after several steps, thoroughly when my mother run out from her gate, i can hear deaf sound: DUTH!

...It wasn't quite fair. Some blonde amazon ambushed my mother just near the end of her corridor. Mom couldn't do anything, she was instantaneously disabled by single, pretty blow in head...
There was no any scream. I think that mom wasn't even sensible, what was happened to her.

The commentator said only: "Ooops, looks like lady Anna have some trouble".

After this brutal but effective work, my mother still runs for some distance, but of course nobody is interested about her: she is already eliminated, and the fight going on. Moms unconscious body fall down about the centre of arena and stay there. For her the battle was over.
It's sad, but I must agree, that this was very good and precise shot.
